The City of Eureka was an area pioneer in the establishment of a specialized emergency notification system. In 2008 we became the first city in St. Louis County to approve a contract for a CodeRED high speed telephone notification system. This system allows Eureka to provide notification to residents and business in targeted areas of an emergency situation. This may include emergency weather situations, evacuation notices, boil water or missing children. Once the situation is resolved a second call is placed to the member that normal activities can be resumed. The system works with land and cell phones for those who have a Eureka MO street address. To sign up go to www.eureka.mo.us and click the CodeRED icon.
City of Eureka expands quarterly newsletter
The City of Eureka has expanded our quarterly newsletter and now mails it to the entire 63025 zip code. Many residents and businesses at our “town hall” meetings expressed their pleasure with our quarterly newsletter and suggested that we include new features and an expanded market area. The Board of Aldermen recognizes that many of our business customers and owners, students and active area residents live outside our defined city limits. The delivery cost per piece declined due to making our mailing general delivery instead of specific addresses.
